Sarah H. Covert is a Director of Warren Whitney and a member of the account service team. Sarah has experience to working both in non-profit organizations as well as the insurance industry, and provides clients with accounting services typically performed by a Senior Bookkeeper or Accountant.
Management Experience:
Prior to joining Warren Whitney, Sarah served as a Financial Analyst for Anthem, Inc. where she prepared monthly and annual financial statements, analyzed financial results for monthly Board reports, and prepared and presented budgets and budget variations. Sarah also was responsible for completing and filing both quarterly and annual statutory reports required by the Bureau of Insurance, as well as working directly with auditors to provide timely responses to audit inquiries.
Sarah’s professional experience also includes acting as an Insurance Examiner for the State Corporation Commission Bureau of Insurance and an Assistant Cost Analyst for E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company. She gained extensive experience with budgeting, conducting financial reporting, analysis, and reviews, preparing financial statements, and bookkeeping. She is skilled both with Microsoft Office software and QuickBooks.
Education and Professional Associations:
Sarah earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Richmond, where she majored in Accounting. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She served on the St. Mark’s Preschool Board for 12 years, lending her expertise preparing financial reports, data analysis, and fiscal budgets to help the Board make sound financial and policy decisions. Sarah is a member of Christian Education and Development at Salisbury Presbyterian Church, and currently serves as President of the Midlothian High School Band Boosters.
